This is an excellent appetizer, it is light and so tasty. All your family will adore it, make it for friends, it is easy and delicious.
Ingredients
- black pepper: 1 tsp
- salt: 1 tsp
- lemon juice: 2 Tbsp
- olive oil: 5 Tbsp
- basil: 50 g
- red onion: 70 g (finely chopped)
- garlic: 4 clove
- tomatoes: 8 piece
- French baguette: 1 piece (or similar Italian bread)

Chop onion, garlic and basil.

Rinse and slice tomatoes.

Now mix all these cut vegetables in a bowl.

Add salt and pepper.

Then add olive oil and lemon juice. You may replace lemon juice with balsamic vinegar.

Mix everything well and add anything you need per taste.

The baguette slices will toast best in the top rack of your oven, pre-heat it to 230C (450F) degrees and place the slices in the oven on the top rack and toast for 5 to 6 minutes until lightly browned.

Use a spoon to gently top each toasted bread slice with some of the tomato mixture or serve the toasts plain with a bowl of the tomato bruschetta mixture on the side for people to top their own.
