Stages of cooking
-
Sift the flour onto the cooking surface, add salt, frozen butter and start chopping the products until you get enough crumbled dough.
-
Add egg yolks and start kneading the dough. Add water to simplify the process
-
Fold the dough in cellulose casing and place into the fridge for about 30-60 minutes
-
Meanwhile, you can cook the topping. Cut the apples into 4-6 parts depending upon their size and add a few drops of lemon juice to prevent them from getting dark.
-
Take the baking form (preferably, a deep frying pan), spoon honey, heat it and add cinnamon. Stir everything well
-
Add the apples you have cut and heat them on small fire. Do not cover the frying pan!
-
Roll out the dough, while the topping is being cooked
-
Cover the apples in the frying pan with the dough, make several picks using the fork (this step should not be omitted!). Place the frying pan into the oven, which should be pre-heated to 180 degrees. Bake until the pie is ready. Usually, it takes around 30 minutes.
-
As soon as the pie is ready, cover it with the plate and… turn down!
-
Voila! This is how your French apple pie “Taten” should look like! Enjoy the dessert!
