Green chili pickle is a South Indian dish, which is very easy and quick to cook. It contains spicy ingredients that make the dish delicious and aromatic. You can serve green chili pickle with curd rice or any other side dish you prefer.
Ingredients
- green chili pepper: 1 cup
- oil: 50 ml (sesame oil)
- mustard seeds: 1 Tbsp
- fenugreek: 1.5 Tbsp
- coriander seeds: 1 Tbsp
- turmeric powder: 0.5 Tbsp
- lemon juice: 3 Tbsp
- asafoetida: 0.5 Tbsp
- sea salt: 0.5 tsp (to your taste)

Start cooking green chili pickle with the marinade. With this purpose, wash and wipe out green chili first and then cut it into pieces around 1 inch each. Add sea salt, mix properly and leave under the sunlight for one day.

Take a pot and heat around ¾ cup of sesame oil in it. Then let it cool for a while.

Take a frying pan now, dry roast mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and coriander seeds. Cool them as well.

Grind the seeds well to get spicy powder.

Now, heat sesame oil, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add freshly ground spicy powder, asafoetida, turmeric powder and mix well.

Now, it is high time to add marinated green chili. Mix the ingredients well and turn the fire off.

Add lemon juice and mix once again.

Finally, add sesame oil and mix one more time.

Store the readymade green chili pickle in a porcelain jar. Serve with curd rice or any other side dish to your liking. Bon appétit!
