Stages of cooking
-
Prior to cooking the dish, pre-heat the oven to 176 C (350 F) and cover the baking pan with parchment paper not to distract from the cooking process afterwards. Take a deep saucepan, heat it on medium fire and mix maple syrup, cinnamon, salt, ginger, coconut oil, vanilla and cloves in it. These are the ingredients for the syrup. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring the sauce several times. It should be liquid and warm with the salt dissolved in it well.
-
Take another bowl and mix the oats, almonds, flax seeds, cashews, pumpkin seeds and chia seeds in it. Pour the warm sauce above this mixture and spread it evenly on the baking pan.
-
Bake in the pre-heated oven for about 15 minutes. Then remove the baking pan from the oven. While the granola is still warm, grasp all the corners of the baking paper and pull them to the center of the pan to make a pile. Stir the granola with a spoon and spread it on the baking pan once again. Place into the oven for 5 more minutes. Repeat the previous step to check whether all the pieces of your granola are baked well. If there are any pale places, stir it one more time and place into the oven for 3-4 minutes more. As soon as the dessert is ready, take it away from the oven and leave on a baking pan to cool down.
-
Dredge your granola with apricots, cranberries or any other fruit or berries. Then stir the granola well to mix all the ingredients.
-
Keep your holiday spice granola in the airtight container (preferably, a glass jar) at the room temperature. The storage time may reach up to several weeks. Serve when needed and enjoy!
