Sesame jaggery sweet dumplings are very popular in South India. It takes only 20 minutes to cook it, while the result will be fantastic! The dish consists of several ingredients only and you can serve it to your guests and family members with pleasure!
Ingredients
- rice flour: 1 cup
- water: 0.75 cup (or 1 cup if needed)
- sesame seeds: 4 Tbsp
- Jaggery: 0.25 cup (grated)
- salt: 1 pinch
- oil: 1 Tbsp (sesame oil works best here)

Take a frying pan and dry roast sesame seeds in it. Then take a bowl and mix sesame seeds, salt and jaggery in it.

Add rice flour, water and stir well to get the batter. Make sure there are no lumps in it.

Heat a frying pan, stir the batter and spoon in carefully. Cut off heat when the batter gets the consistency of chapathi dough.

Divide the dough into two balls of the same size.

Press the dough in the center, rotate and give it the shape of the bowl. Fill the dough with ellu poornam.

Now, press three sides of the circle and seal to get the triangle shape.

Steam for about 5 minutes and serve hot! Bon appétit!
