- onions: 2 piece (thinly sliced)

In a large skillet over medium heat, warm the olive oil.

Add the onions and salt, and stir until evenly coated.

Lower the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring every few minutes, for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the onions are caramelized and tender.

Pour in a splash of water as needed to deglaze the pan and scrape up the brown bits if the onions start to stick.
