Masala pyaaz is a side-dish that is served in some restaurants with Indian starters. The recipe mentioned here serves just one person but you can increase the quantities of ingredients up to you.
Ingredients
- coriander leaves: 1 tsp
- mint leaves: 1 tsp
- lemon juice: 1 Tbsp
- salt: 1 pinch (per taste)
- black pepper: 0.5 tsp
- chaat masala: 0.5 tsp
- cumin powder: 0.5 tsp
- onion: 1 piece (medium)
- chili pepper: 0.5 tsp (powdered)

Peel and rinse onions, slice into thin pieces or in rounds or you can halve them and then slice. Take them in a small mixing bowl.

Add red chili powder.

Add roasted cumin powder.

Add chaat masala, you can also add black pepper powder.

Now add salt as per taste, you may experiment and add black salt or rock salt.

Add lemon juice.

Throw chopped mint and coriander leaves. You can also just add either mint or coriander leaves, if you do not have both.

Mix very well. Check the flavouring and add more spices, lemon juice, salt if required.
Serve masala pyaaz with your meals.
