This is a delicious, easy to make cake with a lovely texture, best when topped with cream cheese icing.

Ingredients

  • butter: 0.25 cup (softened)
  • shortening: 0.25 cup
  • ½ cups white sugar: 1 piece
  • vanilla extract: 0.5 tsp
  • eggs: 3 piece
  • all-purpose flour: 2 cups
  • baking powder: 1 tsp
  • baking soda: 1 tsp
  • ½ teaspoons ground nutmeg: 1 piece
  • salt: 0.25 tsp
  • buttermilk: 1 cup

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the buttermilk until just blended. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
