My grandmother's turkey dressing recipe is an old-fashioned classic. It can be cooked as directed in a baking dish or used as stuffing and cooked inside your turkey. It makes enough to stuff a very large bird.
Ingredients
- slices white bread, lightly: 30 piece (toasted)
- butter: 2 Tbsp
- onion: 1 piece (chopped)
- stalks celery: 2 piece (chopped)
- chicken broth: 2 cups
- eggs, lightly: 2 piece (beaten)
- water: 2 Tbsp (or as needed, optional)
- rubbed sage: 2 tsp
- garlic powder: 1 tsp
- salt and ground black pepper: (to taste)

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
