- onion: 0.25 cup (chopped)
- garlic: 2 clove (minced)
- vegetable oil: 2 Tbsp
- uncooked instant rice (such as Minute®): 3 cups
- ¼ cups chicken broth: 2 piece
- vegetable juice (such as V8®): 1 cup
- ½ teaspoons taco seasoning: 1 piece

Cook and stir onion, garlic, and vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until onions are softened, about 5 minutes.
