These tomato and mozzarella bites are a great way to serve tomato-mozzarella salad as a party appetizer. Great presentation; always a hit! You can find bite-sized mozzarella called bocconcini at most supermarkets. If they are on the larger side, cut them in half.
Ingredients
- toothpicks: 20 piece
- grape or cherry tomatoes: 20 piece (halved)
- basil leaves: 20 piece (fresh)
- balls fresh mozzarella cheese (often labeled bocconcini): 20 piece
- salt and pepper: (to taste)
- balsamic vinegar: 0.5 cup
- extra virgin olive oil: 0.25 cup
