Stages of cooking
-
To cook tasty apple jam, it is better to take green apples that contain much pectin, so the jam will be well jellified.
-
Wash and peel the apples. Put the peeled apples into one pot and the peelings into another pot.
-
Dredge the peeled apples with sugar and mix them well.
-
Now, let’s take the peelings and pour water inside the pot. Boil on small fire for about 10 minutes to get the sauce. Let it cool down a bit and then pour the apple sauce into the pot with the apples. This is how you will make use of all the parts of the apples.
-
Having done that, put the apples in the pot on fire and boil until they become soft. This will take around 30-40 minutes. Mix everything well, reduce the fire and boil the apples until they are ready. To check the readiness of the jam, just spill a few drops of it on the plate, let it cool down a bit and watch if it leaks or not. If the jam is properly jellified, it is ready!
-
Spoon hot apple jam into dry sterilized glass cans and close them well.
-
I have got 3 glass cans about 0.5 liters each. Enjoy the dessert!
