- flour : 250 g
- milk : 75 ml
- butter : 50 g
- egg : 1 piece
- sugar : 115 g (to sprinkle)
- salt : 1 pinch
- baking powder : 0.5 tsp
- almond : 100 g
- ginger : 1 pinch
- beet juice : 20 ml
- clove : 20 piece (for garnish)
Stages of cooking
Mix one yolk and sugar, add butter, milk, baking powder, ginger and salt.
Add flour and knead the dough. Place in a fridge for 1 hour.
Part the dough into 20 small pieces. In the center of every piece place the stuffing (the white of egg and sugar mixed with almond) and make a ball. Press in every ball clove and small stick to make an apple.
Place on the baking tray and bake in a pre-heated to 180C (360F) degrees oven during 20 minutes until golden.
Mix milk (3 tbsp) and beet juice and colour hot apples. Now serve and enjoy!
