I got this baked French toast recipe from my sister in law. She and my brother had it at their gift opening after the wedding. I make it any time we have people staying with us, and it is always a hit. You may sprinkle the top with pecans if you wish.

Ingredients

  • loaf French bread, cut diagonally in 1 inch slices: 1 piece (1 pound)
  • eggs: 8 piece
  • milk: 2 cups
  • ½ cups half-and-half cream: 1 piece
  • vanilla extract: 2 tsp
  • ground cinnamon: 0.25 tsp
  • butter: 0.75 cup
  • ⅓ cups brown sugar: 1 piece
  • light corn syrup: 3 Tbsp

  1. Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish; arrange slices of bread on the bottom.
