A gyro is a Greek sandwich consisting of meat, tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce that's served on pita bread. These beef gyros are yummy!
Ingredients
- containers plain yogurt: 2 piece (8 ounce)
- cucumbers - peeled, seeded, and: 2 piece (diced)
- olive oil: 3 Tbsp (divided)
- fresh dill: 1 Tbsp (chopped)
- lemon: 0.5 piece (juiced)
- garlic: 3 clove (peeled)
- salt and ground black pepper: (to taste)
- beef top sirloin steak: 1 piece (1 pound, cut into thin strips)
- pita bread rounds: 5 piece
- tomato: 1 piece (chopped)
- onion: 0.5 piece (sliced)
- crumbled feta cheese: 1 pack (4 ounce pack)
- lettuce: 0.5 cup (shredded)
- ripe olives: 1 can (2.25 ounce can, drained, sliced)

Blend yogurt, cucumbers, 2 tablespoons olive oil, dill, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper in a blender until tzatziki sauce is evenly combined.

Heat remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir steak in the hot skillet until no longer pink, 5 to 10 minutes.

Layer 1/2 of each pita with steak, tomato, onion, feta cheese, lettuce, olives, and tzatziki sauce. Bring the edge of each pita over the filling and secure with a toothpick.
