Stages of cooking
-
Start cooking the dessert with making the dumplings first. To do that, take a medium bowl and whisk flour, salt, baking powder and sugar in it. Cut the butter into small cubes and add it to the flour. The flour with butter should become coarse. Then add milk and stir until the flour becomes a bit wet. Knead the dough and form a ball. Set it aside for a while. Take a saucepan and mix blackberries, cinnamon, sugar, water, lemon juice and lemon zest in it. Boil the sauce, occasionally stirring it.
-
As soon as the berry sauce starts boiling, tear off small pieces of dough and put on the fruit in the sauce. All in all, you should have 6 chunks of dumpling dough.
-
Cover the pot with the lid and reduce the fire. Simmer for about 25 minutes, but don’t remove the lid.
-
Take the dumplings away from the pot and place them into serving dishes. Top with berries. Serve hot or chilled with ice cream or cream. Enjoy!
