This Canadian casserole won’t leave you indifferent because of its fantastic taste! With a few simple and affordable ingredients and only half an hour of cooking time, you will get a great dish that will become the highlight of any festive table!
Peel, wash and slice onions first.
Take a deep sauté pan and melt butter on medium heat. Then add onions. Saute until the onions become transparent and light golden.
Take a shallow casserole pan and put the first layer of onions. Then dredge the onions with 2/3 of cheese, add salt and black pepper to your taste. Take another sauce pan and heat milk, soup and soy sauce in it. Stir the ingredients well. Pour this mixture above your casserole and carefully mix it.
Put slices of bread on the top of the dish.
Bake at 176 C (350 F) for about 15 minutes. Then slightly push the slices of bread deeper into the sauce and dredge the casserole with the rest of the grated cheese.
Keep baking the dish for about 15 minutes more. Serve warm and enjoy this simple, quick, but very delicious Canadian dish!
