There are different recipes for Cuban sandwiches. Here's how I build my Cuban, or Cubano. I like to use pulled pork. Carnitas would work too. These ingredients and amounts are open to your own personal preferences, but here's a general idea.

Ingredients

  • mayonnaise: 0.25 cup
  • mustard: 0.25 cup
  • pinch cayenne pepper: 1 piece
  • loaf Cuban bread: 1 piece (8 ounce)
  • slices Swiss cheese: 8 piece
  • thin slices smoked fully-cooked ham: 6 piece
  • ½ cups cooked pulled pork: 1 piece (heated)
  • dill pickle, sliced thinly lengthwise: 1 piece
  • butter: 2 Tbsp (or as needed)
