Healthy fresh fruit, granola, and cinnamon combine for a breakfast that looks and tastes like old-fashioned, homemade oatmeal ... with a twist! This dish pairs nicely with a piping hot cup of dark roast coffee.

Ingredients

  • apple - peeled, cored, and: 1 piece (chopped)
  • bananas: 2 piece (sliced)
  • granola: 0.5 cup
  • ground cinnamon: 0.33333 cup (to taste)
  • white sugar: 1 tsp (optional)
  • unsweetened cocoa powder: 1 tsp (optional)
  • butter: 1 tsp (optional)
  • almond milk: 1 Tbsp (to taste)

  1. Place apple, bananas, granola, cinnamon, sugar, and cocoa powder in a container with a lid. Cover and shake until combined.

  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add apple mixture; increase heat slightly and cook, stirring constantly, until cinnamon starts to darken and turn into a paste, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in milk.

  3. Reduce heat to medium; cook, covered, until flavors combine, about 1 minute. Uncover and stir. Cover and simmer for 1 minute more. Remove from heat and stir.
