Codfish salad is a Puerto Rican dish, which enjoys popularity in the country. It is a nice choice for a family dinner or a festive supper. The salad is often served with rice. Green bananas contribute to the taste and look of the salad, making it peculiar.

 

Ingredients

  • codfish : 1 kg
  • egg : 3 piece (boiled)
  • red onion : 1 piece (sliced)
  • avocado : 1 piece
  • olive oil : 0.25 cup
  • apple cider vinegar : 0.3 cup
  • tomatoes : 1 piece (small)
  • Spanish olives : 15 piece

Stages of cooking

  1. Boil the codfish in water.  Don’t forget to change the water several times, because the fish is too salty.

  2. Cut all the ingredients. Take a large bowl and mix the ingredients there.

  3. Now, add vinegar and olive oil. Mix everything well once again.

  4. Take green bananas, cut the ends.  

  5. Boil in salty water for about 20-25 minutes. The peels will become brown, this is normal. As soon as the bananas become fork tender, remove them from the pot, cool them down a bit and peel them well. 

  6. Sprinkle the bananas with olive oil.

  7. Serve the codfish with the salad and green bananas. Bon appétit!
