Stages of cooking
-
Prepare the ingredients for the donuts to have them at hand while cooking. Divide the pack of yeast (50 g) into five equal parts. Take one part for cooking donuts.
-
Take a bowl and pour warm milk inside it. Add yeast, sugar, salt, vanillin and ricotta. If you don’t have ricotta at hand, you can replace it with cottage cheese. Mix the ingredients well.
-
Cover the dough with a towel and put the bowl into the warm place for about 20-30 minutes.
-
Dredge the counter top with flour and knead the dough.
-
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts.
-
Roll out one part of the dough and cut out round-shaped figures using a large glass. Then cut out small holes inside the large ones using a small wine glass. Cut as many donuts as you can until you have dough.
-
Pour oil into a pot and heat it well on small fire. Put one donut into the oil.
-
Turn the donut onto another side in a 1.5-2 minutes. The donut should be golden.
-
That’s it! The donuts with ricotta are now ready! Put them on a paper towel to let the excess oil soak into it.
-
As soon as the donuts cool down, dredge them with vanilla sugar! Serve with warm tea or coffee and enjoy the dessert!
