Stages of cooking
-
Start with marinating the chicken. To do that, put chicken legs into a shallow bowl and sprinkle them with salt. If you plan to use liquid smoke, add it to the BBQ sauce.
-
Brush the legs all over with 0.25 cup of barbecue sauce and reserve the rest. Place them into the fridge for about 30 minutes. If possible, leave them there overnight. Take the wire grill rack and put chicken legs on it. Make sure they don’t overlap and there is enough space between them.
-
Grill the chicken on the upper level in the oven for about 2-3 minutes on one side until the legs become golden. Then flip them on the other side and cook for 2-3 minutes more.
-
Then heat the oven to 148 C (300 F) and replace the rack to the medium level. Brush chicken legs with the rest of the barbeque sauce and continue baking for about 15 minutes. Then flip them on another side, brush with the sauce where needed and continue baking for 15 minutes more.
-
Serve hot with barbeque sauce! Enjoy!
