Learn how to make honey syrup with this easy recipe. This is a great syrup for pouring over gingerbread, but it is wonderful on almost anything. For the best flavor, poke holes in the cake with a fork before pouring syrup.

  • ½ cups honey: 1 piece
  • water: 0.5 cup
  • lemon juice: 0.25 cup (fresh)
  • lemon zest: 0.5 tsp (grated)

  1. Combine honey, water, lemon juice, and zest in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until boiling. Continue to boil until mixture thickens and is reduced by a fourth.
