Love Irish soda bread with raisins with a good cup of tea or coffee. You can add an egg wash to the top of the bread and then sprinkle with sugar before baking, if desired.

Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour: 8 cups
  • white sugar: 0.75 cup (to taste)
  • baking powder: 2 Tbsp
  • ½ teaspoons baking soda: 2 piece
  • salt: 1 tsp
  • ¼ cups buttermilk: 2 piece
  • butter: 1 cup (softened)
  • eggs: 2 piece
  • ½ cups raisins: 1 piece
