If you are a fan of Italian dishes, then this dish will certainly appeal to you! Italian sausage and cabbage stew is absolutely delicious! You can use savoy cabbage or regular one for it. If you want to make this stew vegetarian, leave out the sausage and add more beans.
Ingredients
- olive oil: 1 Tbsp
- Italian sausage: 450 g
- onion: 1 piece (half sliced and half minced)
- garlic: 2 clove (minced)
- white wine: 1.5 cup
- white beans: 1 can (drained)
- turkey stock: 1 cup (vegetable or chicken stock will work as well)
- water: 1 cup
- salt: 1 tsp (to taste)
- savoy cabbage: 1 piece (sliced)
- bay leaf: 2 piece
- parsley: 1 cup (chopped)
- parmesan: 1 cup (grated)

Heat olive oil in a large frying pan and brown the sausage. As soon as the sausage is ready, remove it and set aside for a while.

Add the minced onion and keep sautéing for about 3-4 minutes. Stir occasionally. Then add minced garlic and keep cooking for a few minutes more.

Now, add white wine and beans. Cover the frying pan and keep cooking for 10 minutes more.

Finally, add water, stock, salt, cabbage, sliced onion half, bay leaves and browned sausage. Bring to a boil, cover the pan and simmer for about 10 minutes. Then uncover it and keep cooking around 15-20 minutes until the cabbage is ready. Dredge with chopped parsley, grated cheese and serve warm! Enjoy!
