Stages of cooking
-
Take beef liver, remove the membrane, wash and cut into large pieces. Blend the liver with 2 peeled onions for about 1 minute. Add 3 eggs and mix everything well.
-
Add kefir, yeast powder, vinegar, salt, black pepper and flour. Mix the liver batter well until it becomes smooth.
-
Heat the frying pan, add oil, spoon the batter and spread it on the bottom. Fry on both sides for about 30 seconds each.
-
Fry as many liver pancakes as possible, adding a bit of oil each time you spoon the next portion of the batter.
-
Now, it is high time to cook the topping for your liver cake. You can use any vegetables for the topping, but I prefer frying chopped onions and grated carrots for several minutes, mixing the vegetables from time to time until they are ready.
-
Wait until the topping cools down a bit and mix it with mayonnaise. Spread the topping on each pancake, forming the multi-layer cake.
-
Decorate the appetizer to your liking! Enjoy the taste and aroma of this traditional Ukrainian dish!
