This recipe for hummus is a family version that has been passed down for many generations. Eat with warm pita bread.

Ingredients

  • garlic: 2 clove
  • garbanzo beans, half the liquid reserved: 1 can (19 ounce can)
  • lemon juice: 4 Tbsp
  • tahini: 2 Tbsp
  • salt: 1 tsp
  • olive oil: 2 Tbsp
  • black pepper: (to taste)

  2. Pour garbanzo beans into the blender, reserving about 1 tablespoon for garnish. Add reserved liquid, lemon juice, tahini, and salt to the blender. Blend until creamy and well mixed. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios
