Ingredients
- beef short ribs: 1 pound
- salt: 1 tsp
- ground black pepper: 0.5 tsp
- all-purpose flour: 2 Tbsp
- olive oil: 1 Tbsp
- butter: 1 Tbsp
- onion: 1 piece (sliced)
- clove garlic: 1 piece
- stout beer: 1 bottle (12 fluid ounce bottle)
- beef stock: 1 cup

Heat olive oil and butter in a Dutch oven or large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook ribs until browned, about 5 minutes per side. Remove ribs and set aside. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios

Add onion and garlic to the pot; cook and stir until onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Return ribs to the pot; pour in beer while scraping the browned bits of food off the bottom of the pot. Pour in beef stock. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios
