Turron (Turrón) - a traditional dessert in Spain, as well as in some other countries. It is made of honey, sugar, egg whit and nuts. Really delicious dish.

Ingredients

  • almond: 1 cup (baked)
  • honey: 100 g
  • sugar: 100 g
  • egg white: 2 piece
  • waffles: 1 piece (may be replaced with rice paper)
  • huzelnut: 1 cup

  1. Put the nuts in a blender.

  2. Chop the nuts for 10-15 seconds. Try to keep large pieces.

  3. Cover the baking form with a waffle paper to make it easier to get the finished turron out. (You can also use rice paper.)

  4. Melt honey and sugar on a low heat.

  5. Whisk egg whites.

  6. Mix nuts with egg whites and stir carefully.

  7. Add the nut paste to the honey and sugar, cook for another 10 minutes on very low heat.

  8. The mass slightly changes color to caramel.

  9. Spread the mass evenly into the baking form. Leave turron to chill in a cold place, but not in the fridge.
