Ground beef makes this stroganoff sauce a quick, tasty comfort food served over noodles or mashed spuds.

Ingredients

  • butter: 2 Tbsp
  • fresh mushrooms: 1 cup (sliced)
  • onion: 0.33333 cup (chopped)
  • lean ground beef: 1 pound
  • all-purpose flour: 2 Tbsp
  • garlic powder: 1 tsp
  • seasoning salt: 1 tsp
  • ground paprika: 0.5 tsp
  • ground black pepper: 0.25 tsp
  • condensed cream of mushroom soup: 1 can (10.75 ounce can)
  • sour cream: 0.75 cup (to taste)
  • liquid smoke: 1 Tbsp (to taste, optional)
  • Worcestershire sauce: 1 Tbsp

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and onions and saute until onions have turned translucent, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and cook and stir until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Sprinkle with flour, garlic powder, seasoning salt, paprika, and pepper; stir until mixed in.

  2. Add condensed soup, sour cream, liquid smoke, and Worcestershire sauce. Reduce heat to medium, and cook and stir until sauce has thickened, 5 to 7 minutes.
