With a little experimenting, I came up with these chewy, spicy, oatmeal raisin cookies. They make your kitchen smell wonderful while they are baking. They almost remind me of Christmas because the spices smell so good.

Ingredients

  • butter: 0.5 cup (softened)
  • butter flavored shortening: 0.5 cup
  • packed light brown sugar: 1 cup
  • white sugar: 0.5 cup
  • eggs: 2 piece
  • vanilla extract: 1 tsp
  • ½ cups all-purpose flour: 1 piece
  • baking soda: 1 tsp
  • ground cinnamon: 1 tsp
  • ground cloves: 0.5 tsp
  • salt: 0.5 tsp
  • rolled oats: 3 cups
  • raisins: 1 cup

  3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until light and golden. Do not overbake. Let them cool for 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheets to cool completely. Store in airtight container. Make sure you get some, because they don't last long! naples34102
