Prior to cooking the sauce, rinse cranberries well. If there are any bruised or spoiled berries, throw them away. Now, take a medium-sized pot, pour water inside and add sugar. Boil the water on high heat and stir well to make sure the sugar is properly dissolved.
-
Add cranberries and keep boiling the sauce for about 10 minutes until the cranberries burst.
-
If you decide to use optional ingredients, it is high time to add them. You can add pecans, orange zest, raisins, currants, blueberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice.
-
Turn the fire off now and let your cranberry sauce cool down. Pour it into another bowl and put into the fridge until it becomes dense.
