I got this recipe for Famous Amos cookies from a co-worker some years ago. It makes a nice large batch!
Ingredients
- white sugar: 1 cup
- packed light brown sugar: 1 cup
- butter: 1 cup
- vegetable oil: 1 cup
- egg: 1 piece
- milk: 1 Tbsp
- vanilla extract: 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour: 4 cups
- salt: 1 tsp
- cream of tartar: 1 tsp
- baking soda: 1 tsp
- semisweet chocolate chips: 2 cups
- walnuts: 0.5 cup (chopped)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Cream together white sugar, brown sugar, butter, oil, egg, milk, and vanilla until thoroughly combined.

Add in flour, salt, cream of tartar, and baking soda. Mix in chocolate chips and walnuts.

Drop dough by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 12 minutes. Cookies are light in color when done.
