A simple and delicious way to season and grill romaine lettuce, perfect as a salad base or a wrap.

Ingredients

  • romaine hearts: 4 piece (whole)
  • extra-virgin olive oil: 2 Tbsp
  • apple cider vinegar: 1 Tbsp
  • garlic powder: 1 tsp
  • salt: 0.25 tsp
  • Freshly ground black pepper: 0 g (to taste)

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high.

  2. Cut about 2 inches off of each head of romaine, and shave off the very bottom of the root, leaving it intact.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, and salt. Season with pepper. Brush the mixture over all sides of the romaine.

  4. Place the romaine directly on the grill or on a grilling mat and cook, turning the romaine with tongs so that it cooks evenly, for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or until slightly charred.
