- brown sugar: 1 cup
- all-purpose flour: 1 cup
- quick-cooking oats: 0.75 cup
- butter: 0.5 cup (melted)

- pitted tart red cherries: 4 cups
- water: 1 cup
- white sugar: 1 cup
- cornstarch: 2 Tbsp
- vanilla extract: 1 tsp

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Mix brown sugar, flour, oats, butter, and cinnamon together in a bowl until crumbly. Press half the mixture into the bottom of an 8x8-inch pan; top with cherries.
