Moong Dal Halwa is a popular Indian dessert, which will not leave you indifferent as well. It involves several ingredients only and tastes so delicious that both children and adults will enjoy the delicate taste of this dish! Hurry up to cook it right away!

 

Ingredients

  • moong dal: 1 cup
  • milk: 1 cup
  • sugar: 1 cup
  • cardamom: 0.5 Tbsp (dried; powder)
  • pistachios: 5 piece
  • almond: 4 piece
  • ghee: 0.25 cup

  1. Take a frying pan and heat it well. Fry ghee, pistachios and almonds until they become light golden. Chop them afterwards.

  2. Wash and soak moong dal for about 5 hours. Drain water and grind moong dal, having added 1 tablespoon of water in advance.

  3. Now, heat a deep pot and pour milk inside.

  4. As soon as it starts boiling, add moong dal paste and stir well, while cooking on low heat.

  5. Right after that, add ghee and stir well once again. As soon as it starts boiling again, add sugar and stir the mixture one more time. Keep cooking until the mixture blends well.

  6. Add cardamom powder, chopped nuts and mix the dish. Remove the pan from fire.

  7. Put the dessert on the ghee greased serving dish. Cut into the pieces of any shape you like and serve hot! Enjoy!
