Onion jelly with plums… Have you ever heard about such an extraordinary combination of ingredients? If not, then it is high time to try cooking the jelly right away! You can use it as a dessert or a sweet sauce to meat dishes! It will taste unusual in different combinations!
Ingredients
- red onion: 500 g
- brown sugar: 50 g (can be replaced with honey)
- thyme: 5 g
- black pepper: 1 pinch
- balsamic vinegar: 1 tsp
- tabasco sauce: 0.25 tsp
- plum: 300 g
- oil: 3 Tbsp (it is recommended to mix sunflower and olive oil)
- red wine: 200 ml (sweet)
- salt: 1 pinch

Peel, wash and cut red onion into four pieces.

Now, slice each piece of onion into several more pieces, but do not chop it! Otherwise, it will lose its taste and look!

Then take a frying pan, pour oil inside. Fry the onion, add thyme and stew, stirring the ingredients.

As soon as the onion is half-ready, add brown sugar (or honey) and keep stirring it. Sugar should become caramelized.

Pour red wine in small portions and stew the onion until the wine evaporates. Then add salt, pepper, Tabasco sauce and balsamic vinegar.

While the onion is stewing, wash and slice the plums. Mix the ingredients well. Stew for about 10 minutes to get the jelly.
