Samak rice pudding is a South Indian dish, which is quite easy to cook. It won’t take you long to cook the pudding, but your loved ones will be delighted to taste it. The dessert has peculiar taste and aroma, so, your guests will be satisfied with the result!

Ingredients

  • samak rice: 1 cup
  • milk: 3 cup
  • water: 0.25 cup
  • sugar: 0.25 cup
  • cardamom: 0.5 Tbsp (dried; powdered)
  • saffron: 1 pinch
  • raisins: 7 piece
  • almond: 6 piece
  • cashew: 5 piece
  • nutmeg scraps: 1 pinch
  • ghee: 2 Tbsp

  1. Start cooking the dessert with dry roasting samak rice.

  2. Heat the frying pan then, add ghee and roast almonds, raisins and cashews. Put the roasted ingredients into a bowl and set them aside for a while. Pour water and milk into the same frying pan. Add roasted samak rice and mix it well. Wait until it boils. The readymade rice should be soft.

  3. As soon as the rice is ready, add sugar and mix it well. Now, it is high time to add saffron.

  4. Then add cardamom powder, nutmeg scraps and the mixture of roasted raisins and nuts.
