This is a split pea soup with sausage that I came up with so everyone in my house would eat it.
Ingredients
- split peas: 1 pound (dried)
- water: 10 cups
- smoked sausage of your choice: 1 pound (sliced)
- cubes chicken bouillon: 5 piece
- ½ cups chopped carrot: 1 piece
- celery: 1 cup (chopped)
- potatoes: 2 piece (chopped)
- garlic powder: 0.5 tsp
- oregano: 0.5 tsp (dried)
- bay leaves: 2 piece
- onion: 1 piece (chopped)

In a 5-quart slow cooker, combine peas, water, sausage, bouillon, carrot, celery, potatoes, garlic powder, oregano, bay leaves, and onion.

Cover and cook on High for 4 to 5 hours. Remove bay leaves before ladling into bowls.
