This moist meatloaf is a family recipe that is a big favorite at our house. By using fresh bread instead of dried bread crumbs, you get a meatloaf that is juicy and delicious.
Ingredients
- ground beef: 2 pound
- onion: 0.5 piece (chopped)
- small chunks of bread: 0.75 cup
- eggs: 2 piece (beaten)
- milk: 0.5 cup
- green bell pepper: 0.5 cup (chopped)
- ½ teaspoons salt: 1 piece
- sage: 0.25 tsp
- ground black pepper: 0.25 tsp
- ketchup: 0.5 cup (to taste)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Mix together ground beef, onion, bread, beaten eggs, milk, bell pepper, salt, sage, and black pepper in a large bowl until well combined. Press into a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Spread ketchup over the top of loaf.

Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center, about 45 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
