Stages of cooking
-
Cut the pumpkin into large but thin pieces. This is an ideal variant for the best soaking of the syrup with oil. Put the rice into the salty boiling water and cover the pot with the lid. Boil the rice for about 15 minutes on small fire. Then cut the banana along the fruit into large pieces as you see on the photo.
-
Fry the pumpkin on oil for about 2 minutes on each side.
-
As soon as the pumpkin is ready, add banana, chopped plums and a sliced pear.
-
Pour the fruit with the syrup. Actually, you can take any syrup you like. I used pineapple syrup. Stew the fruit in the syrup for about 6 minutes.
-
Put the rice on the plate and cover it with the pumpkin and fruit stewed in the syrup. Stir everything carefully, trying not to mash or spoil the caramelized fruit.
-
You are welcome to serve the dish either hot or cold – this depends upon your preferences and tastes! If you wish, you can decorate the dish with fresh fruit and sunflower seeds. This will give the fruit pilaff unusual taste! Enjoy!
