If you like tarts that are not sweet, this recipe of an onion and bacon tart is right what you need! The dish will be a nice choice for a festive table and a family supper. It will surely become one of the favorite dishes of your family. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • bacon : 200 g
  • flour : 1 cup
  • water : 1.5 cup
  • butter : 2 Tbsp
  • onion : 1 piece (sliced into half-moons)
  • creme fraiche : 0.3 cup
  • chives : 1 Tbsp (chopped)

Stages of cooking

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 230 C (450 F). Mix flour with water to get batter. Take 1/3 of batter and spread it across the frying pan. Fry the crepe on small fire for about 3-4 minutes. The edges should curl up a bit and become light brown. Do not turn the crepe on the second side.

  2. Cut the bacon into thin strips and fry on medium fire for about 10 minutes to make it a bit crispy.

  3. Drain the bacon strips on paper towels to get rid of extra oil.

  4. Saute onions in the same frying pan for about 3-5 minutes until it softens. Let the onion cool down.

  5. Mix onion with crème fraiche then and spread above the crepe.

  6. Add bacon, press it down with a spoon a bit and bake for about 15 minutes.

  7. That’s it! Your onion and bacon tart is ready! You can dredge it with minced chives and serve! Bon appétit!
